As part of the Fire I and Fire II certification we are required to also be certified in Hazmat Awareness and Operations.
This week we learned how to put on Hazmat Class B protective suits as well as set up a decontamination area.
Setup is a timed skill that we will be required to pass on test day in a couple of weeks. Here are three videos showing our three class teams setting up the Decon area. For the test, we will only have 2 people setting it up at a time. But this gave us a taste of what it's all about.
